Anders Borg
Senior Advisor
Anders Borg serves as Senior Advisor to East Capital Group's investment teams and supports on strategic issues. He is a member of East Capital Group's Advisory Committee contributing with experience and analysis to the global economic outlook with focus on macro-economic, political, and social trends.
Anders Borg served as Sweden's Minister for Finance from 2006 to 2014, where he earned wide praise for navigating Sweden through the global financial crisis. In 2011, the Financial Times named Borg Europe's top finance minister. During his time as Minister for Finance, Anders Borg was President of the Ecofin Council and served in the governing institutions of the IMF and the World Bank. He has also chaired World Economic Forum’s initiative on the Global Financial System and has experience from Citi Group, ABN Amro Bank and SEB. Furthermore, he has served as an advisor on monetary policy to the Riksbank and has experience from serving on the Board of Directors in companies such as Kinnevik and Millicom. He is currently serving on the Board of Directors in Nordic Entertainment Group (NENT), Stena International, Nederman and Rud Pedersen Public Affairs. Borg is also the Chairman of the Board of the Swedish state-owned mining company LKAB and Sehlhall Fastigheter as well as Senior Advisor to companies such as Nordic Capital and Kinnevik.
In the early 1990s, Borg was a political advisor to Prime Minister Carl Bildt. He studied Political Science, Philosophy and Economic History at Uppsala University and Economics at Stockholm University and has been a Senior Fellow at the Peterson Institute for International Economics.
